Moving the Active Database Copy to another DAG Member in Exchanger Server 2013:
In the earlier post we have seen Moving the Active Database Copy to another in Exchange Server 2010.
Today we’ll see in Exchange server 2013:
The steps or task here remains the same as we performed in Exchange Server 201o in earlier post.
Before we begin, check the Network and local Administrators permissions and then we can proceed further.
1: Login into Exchange Admin Centre
2: Click Servers on the left page on the Admin Page, in the center of the page highlight the Tab Databases as shown below:
Let’s begin the task:
In my scenario I have taken two-member DAG with two databases. Each server hosts one active and one passive database copy.
To move Exch-MDB1 to MBX2, need to highlight it and then review the status of the database copies. Here I have planned for Switchover as it’s my Maintenance time, this task can be performed based on the scenario you have.
Ones we highlight the Mailbox Database on the right side of the page we can find Tabs like
Suspend, Activate, Remove
Now click Activate the Database copy and proceed further, as usual you will prompt for confirm the action and then progress further.
3: Click Close ones it is finished.
Moving the Active copy using EMS (Exchange Management Shell) remains the same as we performed in the earlier post Moving the Active Database Copy to another DAG Member in Exchanger Server 2010
