Enabling Multifactor Authentication in Microsoft365


Login in to Office365

https://www.office.com/

Click Admin

Click Show All

Under Settings click Services & add-ins


Click Azure Multi Factor Authentication under Services & add-ins

Click Manage multi-factor authentication

This will redirect you to “Azure directory User management multifactor verification Authentication tab

If you drop down View Tab you can identify list of users assigned with permissions.

Select the user  and click Enable under quick steps

You will be notified with information tab

Click on multi-factor auth: https://aka.ms/MFASetup

Here you can provide addition security information

Select the option based on your requirement

Responding the verification can be done one or more types:

Either authenticating through phone or

Mobile Authentication APP

If you go with Authentication APP second option click Set up Authentication app

Follow the below instructions

After you follow the above instructions it will be verified and you notified in your mobile for approval

Note: Your phone numbers will only be used for account security. Standard telephone and SMS charges will apply.

Post which you will be notified with update successful message

Close

And back to previous information tab and click enable multi-factor auth

After you enabling you see message Updates Successful

Click Close

You will see user MFA status as Enabled.
